A pneumatic quick connect fitting is a type of connector used in pneumatic systems for the rapid connection and disconnection of air lines. It is also called pneumatic quick couplings with a simple structure—typically consisting of a housing, collet, sealing ring, and release ring—it simplifies the connection process between various components in the system. By simply inserting or pressing the tube, it enables reliable transmission of air media and provides fast, convenient, and secure connections.
Quick Connection and Disconnection: Requires no tools—installation or removal is completed simply by inserting or pressing, improving maintenance efficiency in pneumatic systems.
Excellent Sealing Performance: Uses rubber sealing rings to ensure high airtightness, reduce air leakage, and enhance system efficiency.
High Flexibility: Compatible with air tubes of various materials and supports different angles, directions, and installation orientations.
Compact Structure and Small Size: Suitable for dense pneumatic tubing layouts.
Pressure and Wear Resistance: Designed to withstand common pressure ranges and operating conditions in pneumatic systems.
Standardized Interfaces: Common sizes include 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm.
This connector is called the American T-type standard (Automotive Type), also known as Tru-Flate, T-Style, or Automotive Type.
Working Principle:
◆ The female connector contains multiple steel balls.
◆ When the male connector is inserted, the steel balls fall into the grooves of the plug.
◆ After the spring sleeve returns to its original position, the steel balls cannot expand outwards,
◆ achieving a secure lock.
It has a high flow rate, is durable, and is widely used in automotive repair, tire inflation, and car maintenance industries.
This connector is also called Industrial/Type D/Milton D Type.
Working Principle:
◆ The sleeve is maintained in a locked state by a spring.
◆ Pull the sleeve → Steel ball/claw releases → Quick disconnection.
◆ Release → Sleeve returns to its original position → Automatically locks the male connector.
It is the most widely used industrial standard in the North American market.
This connector is also called ARO 210 Type. The interface standard is different from the industrial type and they are not interchangeable. It is often used with certain specific equipment and tool brands.
Working Principle:
◆ The female connector has an internal O-ring.
◆ After the male connector is inserted, its end face/outer circle presses against the O-ring.
◆ This connection method creates a highly airtight sealing interface.
Highly recognizable: The male connector has a slender, long stem structure. It is often used with older equipment or in specific industries.
Working principle:
◆ When not connected: Valve is closed → Airflow is locked → Leakage is prevented.
◆ When the male coupling is inserted: Valve is pushed open → Air begins to flow.
