Customer Background

A Belgium-based semi-trailer manufacturer, specializing in sliding platforms for semi-trailer chassis.

The Challenge

The customer needed an extra-long stroke cylinder for their sliding platform system. 

● The technical requirements were demanding:Stroke length: 2800mm

●  Horizontal mounting with support at both ends

●  Additional support at the piston rod front to ensure coaxial alignment between rod and cylinder tube

●  Reduce torque at the front cover head where the piston rod extends

●  Operating temperature as low as -30°C (European winters can reach -40°C in some regions)

 Standard cylinders could not meet these requirements.

Our Solution

We designed and manufactured a fully matched extra-long stroke custom cylinder based on their specifications:

Imported seal kits to ensure reliable sealing at low temperatures

Special low-temperature lubricant for -30°C operation

Optimized support structure for stability under extra-long stroke conditions

Sample Stage: Special Materials Took 10 Days

Because the cylinder tie rods and piston rods were extra-long and required special materials to ensure stability at -30°C, the first sample took about 10 days – 3 working days longer than our standard 7-day sample lead time.

We didn't hide it. We didn't make excuses. We told the customer honestly: special materials take longer to machine. They understood.

We reviewed drawings again and again until everything was perfect – because even a small deviation on paper becomes a big problem on site.

 Batch Production: Re-confirm Before Every Order

Once we moved to batch production, we did not simply "copy" the previous drawings. Before every single order – even when the specifications were identical to the previous batch – we re-confirmed all requirements and technical parameters with the customer.

Their equipment may be updated. Their application conditions may change. We make sure that every product from Fescolo meets the customer's needs at that moment.

Quality Assurance

Each cylinder is individually leak-tested before shipment and packed in customized export wooden crates to prevent damage during transit.

Partnership Timeline

●   2024: The customer found us online. After extensive technical discussions, they placed an order for 2 samples (took 10 days)

●   2025: Samples passed validation. The customer started small batch orders – 25-30 pieces every two months

●   Full year 2025: Over 100 pieces delivered, with consistent quality

●   2026: Customer increased to 48 pieces per month
