From One Sample to Ongoing Trust – A Sweden Railway Safety Customer Story

Apr 16, 2026

Customer Background

A Sweden-based railway safety equipment manufacturer specializing in advanced braking systems and safe cargo handling solutions for trains, trams, and freight wagons.

The Challenge

Railway braking systems have zero tolerance for failure.

The customer needed cylinders that could:

Fail safely – brake must engage when air pressure drops, not release

Survive harsh outdoor conditions – trackside installation with temperature swings, moisture, dust, and impact

Operate reliably for millions of cycles – no leaks, no sticking, no unexpected failures

Fit tight railway bogie spaces – custom mounting required

Standard industrial cylinders weren't designed for safety-critical applications.

The customer needed a supplier who understood railway industry requirements.

From One Sample to Ongoing Trust – A Sweden Railway Safety Customer Story

The Journey

June 2023 – The customer found us and ordered their first sample cylinder, modified from our standard cylinder end cap. From first contact to drawing approval: 2 days. Sample delivery: 6 days.

The customer confirmed functionality and dimensions. They were ready to start testing.

3 months later – First test order: 100 pieces. Delivered in 25 days.

February 2024 – Another 100 pieces for continued batch testing. We knew railway safety cylinders require extensive validation before mass production. We were patient. This order came with slight drawing modifications.

April 2024 – 150 pieces.

July 2024 – 100 pieces. Each time, small adjustments – dimensions, marking positions. We delivered precisely to their specifications.

December 2024 – 120 pieces.

Problem & Solution

April 2025 – The customer reported an issue. The deceleration device is installed trackside in extremely harsh conditions. The cylinder rear end cap showed cracks from impact – not a quality issue, but force exceeding the standard end cap's maximum rating.

Our technical team proposed a solution: open a new extrusion mold and manufacture a stronger end cap using profile material. Stronger, more durable, and material-efficient.

The customer approved. We immediately started new sample development.

Mold opening took time. Actual sample delivery: 15 working days. Worth it. The new sample was significantly stronger – no cracks.

Trust Deepened

The customer approved the new sample and placed a 200-piece test order.

No issues.

October 2025 – Another 200-piece order.

We believe this is just the beginning. Our product has earned its place in their system. The future of our partnership looks promising.
