Custom Mounting Bracket for Custom Cylinders

Sometimes, customizing  cylinder is not enough to meet the customization needs of customers. Fortunately, Fokca (Fescolo) possesses strong technical capabilities, extensive customization experience, and outstanding insights in the field of aerodynamics, enabling us to design a suitable mounting bracket for customers' custom cylinders.

A few months ago, He contacted us to customize a special Mickey Mouse shaped Custom cylinder with a tube body featuring multiple magnetic switch mounting slots and a complex cross-sectional shape. But then,the customer encountered some problems during actual use after receiving the custom cylinder.

It has been proven that due to the complexity of custom cylinders, customers have found that there are no TC mounting brackets on the market that can accommodate this custom cylinder. Therefore, the customer came to us hoping that we could develop a TC mounting bracket compatible with this type of Custom cylinder.

Our engineers referred to our existing SI and DNC cylinder series TC mounting brackets, considered all factors comprehensively, and designed a customized split type TC mounting bracket.

What is a TC Bracket?

This split type TC Mounting Bracket is used for the installation and subsequent use of the custom cylinder, ensuring its stable operation during use.

Unlike foot mounting or flange mounting methods, the TC mounting bracket is not connected to the mounting hole on the end cap. On the contrary, it is directly fixed on the custom cylinder. Therefore, the internal shape of the TC Mounting bracket must match the cylinder barrel of the customized cylinder being installed.

By installing the bracket through TC, this custom cylinder can also be connected to the base to achieve swinging motion.

TC Shape Design

According to the shape of the custom cylinder customized by the customer, our technicians have specially designed matching contours, dimensions, fastening block sizes, shapes, and tie rod lengths to ensure that the custom cylinder is correctly Mounting in the TC bracket without collision or interference.

When designing the fastening block, our technicians will make the surface in contact with the custom cylinder serrated. This structure avoids problems related to planar contact, enhances vibration resistance, friction resistance, and adaptability to small gaps and mismatches on the material surface.

Next, the technicians designed specific positioning and fastening holes, and simulated assembly using standard screws and bolts.

In the design process, we took into account the manufacturing tolerances of customized cylinders and TC brackets. Therefore, the inner contour of the TC mounting bracket used for fastening is not completely aligned with the outer contour of the customized cylinder, but there is some machining allowance left. Then use bolts and fastening blocks to adjust the gap to ensure a secure installation.

Following these design steps, we have developed a matching TC mounting bracket for customized cylinders of various sizes ranging from 32mm to 125mm in diameter.

TC Manufacturing Process

Due to the complex cross-sectional shape of customized cylinders, and considering that customers can easily use installation brackets to install cylinders, we have adopted a split structure in the design. Each component is individually manufactured, making assembly easier and maintenance more convenient.

The main body of the bracket is made of cast iron, which is cast to ensure the integrity and dimensional stability of the product structure. The connecting rod is made of 45 steel, which has good strength and toughness.

Finally, all sharp edges have been rounded or chamfered and deburred to prevent the customized cylinder from being scratched or damaged during installation.
