Introduce
This a water seperator, also can call is oil water seperator,Commonly used for air drying, pressurization, and filtration in pneumatic systems to remove water and oil from the compressor air.
The precision equipment in modern industrial manufacturing requires extremely high dryness of compressed air or fuel. The presence of trace amounts of moisture may cause equipment corrosion, blockage, nozzle failure, or component wear. The uses of water separator can significantly reduce the cost of use.
Most water separator is used before the triple component to filter out moisture and some impurities in the compressed air to the maximum extent possible.
What is Water Seperator
Oil-Water Separator, also known as an Air compressor water separator in pneumatic system, is a device used to remove moisture from compressed air or gas, commonly found in compressed air systems. Its main function is to physically separate liquid water or condensate from the air, preventing moisture from entering pneumatic tools or equipment, thereby protecting the system, extending equipment lifespan, and improving operational efficiency.
A water separator typically uses a centrifugal + filter element separation method, and is generally composed of a housing, inlet and outlet ports, centrifugal device, filtration/separation layer, water collection chamber, and a drainage device.
Water separetor for compressor air
The Water Separator is an essential component in compressed air systems.Moist compressed air enters the oil water separator through the inlet. After undergoing initial water separation through centrifugal force and impact, it passes through the separation layer for secondary filtration of smaller water droplets or aerosols. The collected water is then discharged through a dedicated drainage device, and finally, dry air exits through the outlet. The following are the specific functions and filtering order of each structure of the filter.
How does the separator separate
Pre-filtration
The compressed air first enters the pre-filtration unit to remove larger solid particles.
Core Separation
The air then enters the core separation chamber, where a coalescing filter aggregates tiny water droplets and oil mist into larger droplets. Gravity then separates the gas and liquid.
Gas-Liquid Separation and Collection
The separated, dry, clean air is then supplied to the pneumatic equipment, while liquid contaminants collected at the bottom are periodically discharged from the system through a valve.
Intelligent Control
If the equipment is equipped with a heater and sensors, it can also prevent icing in low-temperature environments and implement liquid level monitoring and intelligent drainage.
Water separetor hydraulic use
This water separetor is similar to the Yamaha oil-water separator and is commonly used in the bottom of automatic drains, refrigerated air dryers, fuel filters, air drying tanks and various air filters.
Oil-water separators can be designed to treat a variety of contaminants in water, including free-floating oils, emulsified oils, dissolved oils, and suspended solids. Not all oil separator types are capable of separating all contaminants. Caterpillar fuel water separator filter housing is generally made of copper-aluminum alloy, which has a strong heat dissipation effect, so that the shell body achieves the purpose of good heat dissipation effect, which solves the problem that the existing oil-water separator shell does not have the function of good heat dissipation effect.
Common oil-water separators are 3/8 fuel water separator, 1/2 fuel water separator, 1/4 fuel water separator, such as our products SAD402-S Series End Auto Drainer, SAD402-X Series End Auto Drainer.
